Episode 2: A talk with Cornelius Althammer of Ahab

This is the second episode of Feeding on Wind, a podcast on art and music outside of the mainstream presented by Mark Lindhout.

Being in a band is a lot of work. Let alone being in five bands!

How Cornelius does it, what keeps him going, what annoys him, these are the core subjects we cover in this episode. Ranging from vaccinations and the Justin Bieber fanbase, to drinking whiskey sours with bankers, we talk our way through Cornelius’ musical career and cover a surprising variety of topics.

There’s a ton of music in this episode —some of which hasn’t even been released yet— so you guys are in for a treat!

I would like to thank Cornelius Althammer for talking to me, and allowing me to use his bands’ music. As always, I thank Johannes and Theresa for providing me support, and a spot in Der Eibenreiter to publish to. High five!

Enjoy the show.

Coming up: Cornelius Althammer from Ahab, Fisted Mister, Raptvre, Svärd.

I am working hard on the upcoming episode of Feeding on Wind. On the next installment I will have the prolific musical multi-talent Cornelius Althammer as a guest.

He has performed in an almost unbelievable amount of bands, and is currently active in Ahab, Dead Eyed Sleeper, Fisted Mister, Raptvre, and Svärd, with an honourable mention to his former work in Ekranoplan.

Together, we shall talk our way through the effects of the pandemic on the underground scene, the drives that keep us sane, being in sync with the universe, clear goals, and practice over talent.

Have a listen to the below selection of tracks. That should give you a taste of what Cornelius is up to these days.

I hope you have your podcast subscriptions set up on all your devices, and I shall see you soon on the brand new episode of Feeding on Wind!

Episode 1: A talk with Florian Dammasch of Eïs

This is the first episode of Feeding on Wind, a podcast on art and music outside of the mainstream presented by Mark Lindhout.

We start off the podcast series by talking to Florian Dammasch, an influential German black metal musician known for his participation in Eïs — and Naxen, Enid, Ferndal, and Inarborat too, of course!

In our talk he elaborates on a lot of his activities: What it is like to run a band, being a producer, breaking the magic of a band’s image, and many other things.

I would like to thoroughly thank Florian Dammasch for allowing me to record and publish this talk and his band’s music, and Johannes Schiffelholz for providing me with conceptual support and the initial platform to publish on. You guys rock!

Enjoy the show.

I’ve been working on a long podcast with Florian Dammasch from well-known German black metal act Eïs —and Naxen, Enid, Ferndal, and Inarborat too, of course.

We’re currently still dotting some i’s, but I am confident the podcast will be up in the coming week.

In this upcoming episode, we will be talking about nineties black metal, the hard work that goes into running a band, musical composition, suffering for art, and Angela Merkel’s alternate career path.
